Interview with Michael Carini

Today, I’m excited to introduce you to a truly inspiring artist—Michael Carini. Michael is a neurodivergent artist living with Tourette’s and has had two major traumatic brain injury. But instead of letting those challenges define him, he’s turned pain into purpose. His motto is simple yet powerful: “Don’t be afraid to be different. Be afraid of being the same.” Michael coined the term “Acrylic Alchemy”, which perfectly captures the transformative magic he creates in his art and life. He’s built a remarkable community by doing coaching, offering classes, sharing his journey through a blog and YouTube channel. His Facebook group, “A Safe Place for Artists”, has grown to over 100,000 followers, creating a massive support network for artists everywhere. He’s also one of the busiest artists I know, doing daily artist talks on Instagram and YouTube, volunteering, inspiring countless others. Recently, Michael became a columnist for “Paint World Magazine”, where he shares his journey and his “Acrylic Alchemy” philosophy. I was fortunate to sit down with Michael for this interview, and I was blown away by his resilience, his story, and his deep desire to serve others. His purpose is rooted in not having had many opportunities himself, and now, he’s dedicated to opening doors for others.
